Swimming, pedaling, running… in the same event. A crazy challenge that I launched a few months ago by registering for the Chantilly triathlon.
You may already know that triathlon is a practice (a passion?) in which I am new to. However, I spend a lot of time preparing for this new challenge. I really enjoy juggling swimming, biking and running training. I like it so much that I am preparing a whole new project related to this passion. I’m in the process of finalizing it, it’s taking a long time. I will tell you about it very quickly.
Sometimes I think I’m crazy for wanting to compete in triathlons. Whereas over a year ago I couldn’t run more than 5 kilometers without stopping. On top of that, just a few months ago I did NOT know how to swim the front crawl. To be honest, I hadn’t been in a pool to swim for 10 years.
I’m not sure why I took on this challenge of participating in my first triathlon. I wanted a challenge. One thing is certain: I am served. And my little finger tells me I’m not going to stop there. It is truly an exciting adventure. I have the impression that one quickly becomes “addicted” to it.
In the weeks and months that follow I set myself several sporting challenges. I think these challenges are there to motivate us. By setting a new goal you will do everything to achieve it. You will surpass yourself. You will get better. Be proud of yourself. And say to you “wow I did it”.
Maybe you haven’t chosen your next sporting challenge yet. Maybe your new challenge has already been planned for a long time. I imagine that the 5 sporting challenges that you will discover will push you to exceed your limits more than ever!
1 – The Chantilly Triathlon
On August 29, the Chantilly triathlon takes place in the park of the Chateau de Chantilly. It is in this exceptional setting that this event of the Castle Triathlon Series will take place. I will take the start for the shortest distance, the one reserved for beginners: the adult Starter Sprint. For 200 meters of open water swimming, 10 km of cycling and 2 km of running.
2 – La Parisienne
Do we still need to present the Parisienne? If you’ve lived in a cave for the past few months, La Parisienne is a 6.7 km race for Women only. The 2015 edition takes place on September 13. I will be participating this year with Team Neoness.
If you participate, leave a comment at the bottom of the article with your target time.
3 – The Solidarity Run & Bike
The Run & Bike Solidaire arrives on Sunday, September 20, 2015 for its 2nd edition in Paris at the Bois de Boulogne. A 100% solidarity event for the benefit of the Secours populaire français for a duo race on foot and by bike. The Run & Bike is a race in pairs, one teammate on the bike and the other on foot who will have to complete the chosen course (10km, 4km and 1km) together.
A fun event that I will participate in for the first time this year.
4 – The Triathlon of Roses
The Roses triathlon is a short distance triathlon reserved for Women. The ARC Foundation for Cancer Research is organizing, on Saturday September 26, 2015, in the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, the Triathlon des Roses, an event exclusively reserved for women and entirely devoted to the promotion of breast cancer screening.
Registration can be done as a team. If you feel like it, leave a comment at the bottom of the article. I will finalize my registration this week.
5 -The Paris Half-Marathon
Perhaps the biggest challenge for me… Running more than 10 kilometers… You know I prefer HIIT to endurance running. But this year I want to push my limits even further. Maybe I will register for the Paris half-marathon in September?
